The 2025 International Low altitude Economy Expo is held in Shanghai to promote new changes in transportation infrastructure

2025-07-25

The 2025 International Low altitude Economy Expo will be held grandly at the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center from July 23rd to 26th. The theme of this expo is "Embarking on Low altitude Economy, Empowering Thousands of Industries". The exhibition covers an area of 100000 square meters and has attracted over 500 exhibitors to actively participate.

The exhibition highlighted the complete industrial chain of low altitude infrastructure, manufacturing, and supporting services, as well as diverse application scenarios such as low altitude transportation and urban-rural management, providing an important platform for exchanges and cooperation in the global low altitude economy.

Among the numerous exhibits, achievements related to the transportation infrastructure industry, marking machine industry, and road industry are particularly noteworthy. With the development of low altitude economy, the requirements for ground supporting transportation facilities are also increasing. The new road marking technology and equipment have become the key to ensuring ground guidance for low altitude aircraft takeoff and landing areas. Some participating companies showcased advanced marking machines with higher precision and efficiency, which can quickly and clearly draw special markings suitable for ground guidance of low altitude aircraft. This is of great significance for improving the safety and orderliness of low altitude traffic.

At the same time, the rise of low altitude economy has also prompted the road industry to consider how to better connect with low altitude transportation. For example, in some planned low altitude transportation hubs, the design and construction of roads begin to fully consider the connection with low altitude aircraft takeoff and landing points, including setting up dedicated guidance lanes, optimizing traffic signs, etc. The coordinated development of ground roads and low altitude transportation facilities will build a more three-dimensional and efficient comprehensive transportation system.

It is worth mentioning that the Jinshan East China UAV Base in Shanghai received a lot of attention at this expo. The base has been approved as the largest cross provincial low altitude airspace in the city, covering an area of 1370 square kilometers, with a normalized flying airspace of about 300 square kilometers, and has 8 approved routes including Zhoushan Jinshan Longhua Airport. In China, the base has taken the lead in establishing a "sea shore city" unmanned aerial vehicle logistics and transportation commercial system, ensuring a total of about 230000 flights of various types for 2239 days. This successful example provides valuable experience for the application of low altitude economy in the field of transportation and logistics, and also promotes the continuous improvement of related transportation facilities and road infrastructure.

In addition, at this expo, Jinshan District in Shanghai announced that it will continue to build the "Shanghai Low altitude Economic Characteristic Park and East China UAV Base New Site" on the existing basis, and the new site has already started construction. The new base focuses on attracting and cultivating leading enterprises in the research and development, design, assembly, and testing of eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft), industrial grade unmanned aerial vehicles, and new energy general aviation aircraft. It will link with areas such as Qingpu District, Minhang District, and Hongqiao Business District in Shanghai to create a core carrier area for Shanghai's low air economy throughout the entire industry chain. The construction of the new base will undoubtedly further promote the research and application of low altitude economy related technologies, and drive the innovative development of the transportation industry.

With the rapid development of the low altitude economy, related transportation infrastructure construction and road planning are facing new opportunities and challenges. The holding of this International Low altitude Economy Expo provides a platform for various industries to exchange and showcase, accelerates technological innovation and application, and is expected to promote the transportation industry and the marking machine industry to a new stage of development, laying a solid foundation for the construction of future three-dimensional transportation networks.
